The Ultimate Presentation – Hot Wheels Secret Race

This is a real building (Customs House, Sydney, Australia) with a lot of incredible projection on it that was a live event (eg. not something created with great video editing). Maybe it is a hint to future meetings with no screen, but an entire building, theater or even the moon as the “screen”!

TLC PPT w/ Video Slide Used By Microsoft

Seeing your work displayed to the world is always pretty great. In this case, it has also brought in hundreds of comments on a recent Facebook post by Microsoft.

From a recent project for Microsoft, here is one of the video “templates” I created to demonstrate the video capabilities of PPT 2010.

The Facebook post is here.

In reading the comments, I was surprised at the number of people requesting content-over-video be added as a feature. Maybe some additional advertising and market awareness campaigns are needed. Content-over-video is available in PPT 2010, works great, and the video being commented on was developed in PPT 2010.

Animated Logo Loop

On a recent project, we were provided with a number of corporate logos and asked to create an animated presentation that would be able to seamlessly loop.

The logos were all supplied as Illustrator .eps files. So the first task was converting to .emf or .png format.

Then each logo was separated into many small image files to allow flexibility in animating. All animation is developed in PowerPoint 2010. Here is the result:

Very Cool PPT 2010 Demo Presentation

I have been experimenting with PPT 2010 most of last month and can say this is the most excited I have been about PowerPoint in years!

On Microsoft’s PowerPoint Team Blog a new video highlighting some of the great effects was posted last week – here it is:

PowerPoint + OfficeFX Presenter = Fox TV

I develop PowerPoint presentations for large events that do not look like ‘standard PowerPoint’ with lots of animation, custom images, etc. I have also used the OfficeFX software for lots of events and awards shows because it takes PowerPoint to a new visual level with full motion backgrounds and custom transitions.

Recently a The Lawrence Company used the new Presenter 4 to produce a multi-screen HD show for a Fox TV event that was anything but ‘PowerPoint’ – although the whole thing was PowerPoint.

Here is link to video showing some of the great custom transitions and animations.

SpinArt Presentation

A recent project had me reminiscing about my childhood. This “presentation” was basically very large wall art to accompany the event theme. Remember doing Spin Art projects…

Using some graphics designed in Illustrator (vector based, exported as .EMF’s, and imported into PowerPoint) and some creative animation I recreated these red spin art elements.

Full presentation had several different spin art elements and was a 9 minute loop. Happily, the SpinArt was a huge success and spun all night long!

To see a quick movie of two of the spin art elements animation click here.

Lights, Camera, PowerPoint

Here is a link to a recent project. Thought it would be appropriate to share here because in creating this video tutorial for a client I used Camtasia for the video screen captures, Vegas Video, Photoshop and to make things simple I used PowerPoint for a few things:
1. My storyboard of topics covered (sent to client for approval)
2. Created all of the static image layouts as PowerPoint slides and exported as .jpg’s (which were added to the video timeline)

Online Movie Tutorial : Remove Image Background in PhotoShop

In this screen capture tutorial I go through the process of exporting an image from a presentation, opening it in PhotoShop, removing the background, properly saving it with transparency and then inserting back into the presentation.

This is a 4 minute narrated online movie – because seeing a real demonstration saves hours of frustration! To view click here.

Online Movie Tutorial : Export image from PPT to add PhotoShop Dropshadow

I have just completed a screen capture tutorial that walks through the process of exporting an image from a presentation, opening it in PhotoShop, adding a soft dropshadow, properly saving it out and then inserting back into the presentation. This is a 4 minute narrated online movie, because if a picture is worth a 1,000 words, seeing a real demonstration is worth hours of frustration! To view click here.
