Visual Name List (Portfolio)

This is one slide from a series of presentations formatted on a template TLC Creative developed for a client program. The original slide listed a long bullet list of the key people from around the corporate global operations that were being highlighted for their corporate initiative ideas. TLC converted the bullet list into a visual layout using template colors and support graphics.

Template Vector Library (Portfolio)

On this template design project (which was a great template with all division variations setup on separate master slides in a single template file, which we will highlight later), we developed a series of vector icons for use by the corporation in all of their presentations.

Vector art is editable in PowerPoint, allowing anyone to resize without quality loss, recolor, add shadows, bevels and other PowerPoint styling.

The icons were included in the master template as part of the asset library, which makes it easy for everyone in the company to have a single place to go for the images and easy copy/paste use in any presentation.

Mexico Demographics (Portfolio)

For this presentation, a lot of demographic data was presented. We took the extensive document of bullet points and converted all to visual layouts, putting the content in easily identifiable groupings and adding an icon scheme throughout to tie the data together.

For the map data, everything is editable in PowerPoint. The vector format map was setup so we could fill the color for each country as needed. The callout numbers, lines and text are all PowerPoint elements, which allowed us to minimize design time by using the same elements with new color schemes applied.

Scorecard Layouts (Portfolio)

For a large conference presentation, the first part of the project was working with the technical specs for a multi-projection screen setup to create the custom slide size to match. For these slides, the page size is 45″x15″ and the presentation screen is almost 60′ wide!

These are layout concepts for one of the topics, a visual scorecard of how a number of programs and projects progressed throughout the year.

The first 2 slides show the 2012 data in vertical and horizontal layouts (it is really great working with content on these super wide screen setups!).

The bottom 3 slides show a variety of visual layouts, different imagery options, but all adhering to the Microsoft Metro styling.

Clark Consulting (Portfolio)

Clark Consulting asked TLC Creative Services to help with a presentation makeover on their slides for an important meeting presentation. After reviewing the files, we expanded the project to include an update to the PowerPoint template to set it up correctly, all formatting options preset, optimized and ready for real use. Here are a few before-and-after slides from the project.

What Has Been Happening at TLC?

As many have noticed the past month or so, ThePowerPointBlog has been a bit inconsistent in posts. It is definitely not for a lack of topics (actually I have a list of over 70 topics for posts!). We have been busy with so many great projects that there just has not been enough time in the days to get to everything. Leading up to Christmas, I am posting a series some of our recent projects (which is not as easy as I would like with all of the confidential company material we work with).

Themed Lorum Ipsum Text! Pirate – Corporate – Coffee – and More!!

Lorum Ipsum, or Greeked Text, is placeholder text that has no meaning. Its purpose is to demonstrate how text will look in a layout, in a specific font, size and color. It is also, very helpful for PowerPoint templates and foundation presentations.

Traditional Lorum Ipsum text is a nonsensical latin (created by a 1st century Latin text by Cicero), and looks like this:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. In lacus nisi, tincidunt non purus vel, hendrerit imperdiet urna. Mauris in mattis eros. Nulla ligula arcu, pretium eget justo nec, cursus rhoncus lectus. Nullam eu est blandit, faucibus elit at, pellentesque lectus. Maecenas a vulputate mauris. Donec quis dictum metus. Phasellus at nisi tempus mauris sollicitudin fermentum. Interdum et malesuada fames ac ante ipsum primis in faucibus.

For the above text I used the Lorem Ipsum text generator at lipsum.com (see this January 2007 post).

But that can be boring and TLC is a creative company. So we were very excited about discovering “Meet the Ipsums!” MeetTheIpsums.com is a text generator for dozens of themed Lorum Ipsum text, such as coffee ipsum, cat ipsum, Zombie Ipsum, Canada Ipsum and more!

Here is a personal favorite – Pirate ipsum:

Belaying pin chase coxswain list transom gally pillage broadside furl capstan. Hail-shot aft fore Davy Jones’ Locker careen killick mutiny weigh anchor bilge rat Nelsons folly. Chandler poop deck Blimey six pounders Buccaneer clap of thunder ye Barbary Coast keel Gold Road. Cable doubloon avast grapple interloper hang the jib boom heave down Sea Legs barkadeer.

Even better – not from a productivity vantage, but definitely better for fun and amusement – is that each Ipsum webpage is themed. Here is the interface for generating the above Pirate Ipsum text:
